Testimonials

We love to hear from our puppy owners on how your Portuguese Water Dog is growing up and doing.  Here are some nice emails we have received:

Speaking of joy to our lives we just LOVE Scuba.  My husband started working with him in obedience and he’s doing well with healing and sitting.  I think he’s working on a sit stay.  He also has us all (the kids and myself) do a little with him, so he will respond to all of us.  He is such a good dog!  It’s funny though how he kept his puppy trait of going under a chair and sticking his head out and barking at you.  I pull him out sometimes just to see what he’ll do but he never shows any aggression, that’s just his way of playing.  Like he did in the puppy pen defending that little house you had in there.

He just melts your heart when he looks at you; he kind of tilts his head down and looks up at you.

Any time you need a referral feel free to have them talk to us.  I loved all the updates we received with the litter.  All the other people that saw all the correspondence said their breeders never did any of that.

I am still working on pictures; I got some good ones I just have to get them on the computer.  I know your kids would love to see how much “Georgie” has changed.

Take care, if we ever get close to Michigan with Scuba we would definitely love to get together.  Same goes if you ever find yourself close to Chicago for a show.

Hi Angie,

I always like to send you an update on my Grady. He turned three last month and what a year it has been! My husband and I have joined a local kennel club and have become even more involved in the dog world! Working with the club has been a great opportunity both as volunteers and students.

Grady and his brothers go everywhere with us and have had experiences from riding on a fishing boat out of Palm Coast to playing in the snow in New England. He earned his TDI certificate and every week visits with first graders at Barnwell Elementary school as a reading dog.  And this past weekend, at the Atlanta Dog Show, he earned his Rally Novice title! He is such a WONDERFUL dog and I do so enjoy working with him!

Take care,

Amanda

Hi Angie,

Yes, we had quite a journey back to MN! We left IN about 10:30 on Monday morning and I arrived home at 6:30.....not bad considering we made about 5 potty/water stops!    He "sang" to me from Hammond, IN to Chicago!  So, given his tuxedo markings, white gloves, spats, and my son's love for music, we've named him "Maestro!"  He looks like he's dressed for opening night at the opera and has quite the voice besides!

Pebbles was not so sure about him for the first 24 hours.   She tried to hide and retreated to her favorite place - under my desk.   Each day, she's becoming more and more playful and comfortable with him.   She's learning how to put up with his puppy antics and let him know when she's had enough!  He is fearless!   You should see him attack her!  He takes a flying leap and often catches her off guard!  I can see that they will become best friends - eventually!

He had his first check up with my Vet today.  Everyone in the office couldn't wait to see him and of course, no one wanted him to leave!   They are so impressed that he already goes "potty" on command and doesn't have accidents at night!   And they think he's the most adorable puppy ever (I'd have to agree).   I'll have to send you a copy of the photo the techs took of him when he was almost asleep on the baby scale!
By the way, he weighs 9.6 pounds now.   I think I can see him growing before my very eyes.

Tomorrow I'm meeting some friends and coworkers from my previous congregation who want to meet Maestro.    My former support person owned a PWD at one time and still has a very soft spot in her heart for them!   That doesn't ever go away!   So he will be the center of attention again!

I was going to ask you, because he looks so perfect to me, what is it about him that would disqualify him from the ring?   I'm just curious as my Vet asked that same question.  He was so impressed with his bite, bone structure, etc.

Everything is going so well.   We are all very happy!   I hope you're getting more rest and relaxation now that the puppies are going to their permanent homes.   I'm so glad I could meet you and your family, 2 legged and 4 legged!   I'll keep you up to date on Maestro's growth.

Thanks again for all the work you put into raising and caring for this litter.  It shows!

Hey Angie,

Wanted to give you an update on the pups! We were definitely meant to have the two of them.  Call us crazy but I guess with having the twins, we do things in twos!  Minnie and Daisy are crazy about each other and really did remember each other.  Although they have their breed similarities, it is so fun to see their personalities develop.  Daisy has us thinking that she’s the better behaved of the two for now, I guess because we catch Minnie “in the act” most of the time.  Minnie doesn’t hesitate to counter-surf and ‘score some treats’ but Daisy could very well be the mastermind behind the whole plan.  They have been great with the kids and the kids have had a ball with them.  They have slept in their crates at night since they came to live with us but wake up early enough so that they can ensure some snuggle time up in bed with us.  They always have to be touching us in some way or form and they’re just like stuffed animals that have come to life.

We are so glad that we decided to become parents to PWDs and thrilled with the quality pups that we received from you.  You’re the kind of breeder that should be on every person’s “wish list.” It was obvious from the start that you were a caring breeder, even while we were on the “wait list.”  Your email updates, starting with and during Marinka’s pregnancy; and the constant communication once the puppies were born made it even more exciting as we anticipated which puppy would be ours! We can’t imagine our lives without them and will make sure we keep you updated on the girls!

Our Best -
